Today was a good day. I recovered the handbag in slip and turned the heating off so hopefully this time it will dry properly with no cracking.
I also played with the alginate again. I bought a different brand so I need to see how it works. The instructions suggest using a mixer to make sure it is mixed well. It also changes colour as it dries so you know when it is set. It works really well and I cast my hand in plaster. I also use one of the spheres. I’m still trying to make feet to stabilise the steel armatures. I think this might be the thing that works.
